Shaped by the journey

Updated: May 4

Last year, in June of 2025, I did something that once felt impossible—I spent an entire month exploring Europe. Thankfully, I started this trip with family, exploring parts of England and Croatia together. Once our time ended, I veered off on my own and explored Italy and France as a solo traveler with nothing but my backpack. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this month shifted something in me that I haven’t been able to undo since.

There’s something about being in a completely different environment that forces you to understand yourself more clearly. When everything around you is unfamiliar—the language, the routines, the pace of life—you start to let go of who you think you’re supposed to be, and you begin creating the version of yourself that you’re actually destined to be.

Traveling like that taught me that there is so much more to life than the version we see every day. I built a confidence within myself that I never had before. I realized that I want more out of my life than just comfort and routine. I want to see the world, experience new cultures, meet new people, and truly live the best life I can.

So when you see my travel schedule and notice that I’m always on the go… well, now you know why.

Cheers to my first out-of-the-country trip—you may have been my first, but you will not be my last 🫶🏽

xoxo,

Alora 💋

"When everything around you is unfamiliar—the language, the routines, the pace of life—you start to let go of who you think you’re supposed to be, and you begin creating the version of yourself that you’re actually destined to be." Wow, very profound. Love it. "carpe diem", defined. :)
